Max Wintermark

Dr. Max Wintermark is an accomplished neuroradiologist specializing in stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, movement disorders, and psychiatric disorders.
He completed his training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and a fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

He actively contributed to key trials such as DIAS 2 and MR-RESCUE, leveraging his expertise in neuroimaging to enhance diagnostic methods for stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Currently, he leads the imaging core lab for the NIH-funded Vasculopathy in Pediatric Stroke (VIPS) study, aimed at elucidating the role and etiology of arteriopathy in pediatric stroke patients.
