Max Obata is the Founder + Principal Architect at OBATA NOBLIN, a full-service architecture and design firm based in San Francisco, established in 2019.

With a belief that design is an act of optimism and architecture should enhance human experiences, Max specializes in manipulating material, space, and light to uncover the extraordinary in everyday spaces.

Max's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Architectural History from Middlebury College, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, and participation in architecture programs at Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Having a diverse professional experience, Max has worked at renowned organizations like Spiegel Aihara Workshop, Snøhetta, and University of California, Berkeley, among others.
