    Maura Avington is a highly educated professional with a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Politics, with minors in Women and Gender Studies, Social Justice, Theology, and Global Studies from St. John's University.

    Maura has an extensive background in legislative roles, having served as the Legislative Director and former Legislative and Communications Coordinator at the New York State Assembly. Prior to this, she was a Legislative Aide for Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato and a Campaign Fellow at Finello for Congress.

    In addition to her legislative experience, Maura has worked in various capacities, including as an Intern for Rep. Grace Meng at the U.S. House of Representatives, a Corps Member at Organizing Corps 2020, and a District Office Fellow for Assemblywoman Nily Rozic.

    Maura has also gained valuable experience in community outreach and marketing, serving as a Community Outreach and Marketing Intern at Girls on the Run of Hunterdon, Bucks and Warren Counties. Furthermore, she has worked in constituent services roles at the United States Senate, including as a Constituent Services Lead Intern and a Constituent Services Intern for U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

    Her diverse professional background also includes roles such as Graduate Assistant at the University Writing Center, Finance and Digital Media Fellow at Bucks County Democratic Committee, City Council Policy Fellow at the City of Philadelphia, Intern for the Vincentian Family at the United Nations, and Social Media Intern at The Starfish Foundation, Inc.
