Assumed the technical leadership of the team in charge of all Calls related features (incoming call dispatching, transfers, conferences, availability,...).
-  Took over a critical legacy system (500k calls per day with near real-time constraints and high concurrency) and led the refactoring or extraction of several of its concerns
-  Designed & implemented an acceptance test framework capable of testing entire call scenarios and a randomized load testing framework to simulate high concurrency
-  Rolled out major changes with different strategies (feature flags, dynamic request routing,...) in order to mitigate the risk of downtime
-  Launched several micro-services, using asynchronous messaging (SNS/SQS) and clean architecture (co-designed a Ruby framework to implement it) ; achieved high performances on some services (~13ms p95 latency at 150 requests/sec)
-  Helped the team to onboard on Domain Driven Design (under the guidance of a senior Architect)
-  Led the day-to-day work of the team (4-7 people) with agile rituals (2-week sprints), code reviews, pair programming ; while being able to take a step back every month and assess our progress on the defined roadmap
-  Worked closely with Product Managers to define major improvements and new features: technical & product research, project scoping, roadmap & milestones definition, rollout planning, post-release monitoring,...

Helped the tech team to improve as a whole
-  Introduced Tech Design Reviews: architectural review with several members of the tech team at the beginning of a project
-  Trained other teams on system & application monitoring (especially Datadog features): trainings, individual mentoring,...
-  Mentored a developer for over a year (now became Lead Software Engineer)
-  On-call first responder (~1 weekend per month), handled several outages during and outside working hours

-  improved the quality of audio calls by designing, implementing and tracking the effect of several software improvements
-  data-driven approach (decreased bad call ratings from 0.40% to 0.27%)
-  close communication with our customers to understand the issues (on-site visits) and with our VoIP partner to work together on solutions
-  co-designed and implemented an internal troubleshooting tool, aggregating data from several sources (internal, partners, telemetry,...) to help the support team investigate call quality tickets
