Matthias Klaus

Matthias Klaus is an Analyst of International Security and Risks with a keen interest in the ethical use of AI in security and defense.

He holds a Master of Arts in International Security Studies from George C. Marshall Center, a Master of Studies in Artificial Intelligence: Ethics & Society from University of Cambridge, and a Master of Science in Risk Analysis from King's College London.

His educational background also includes certifications in Joint Targeting Cycle from NATO School and Economics (Technology and Innovation Management) from Helmut Schmidt University, as well as an exchange semester in Economics and military history at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Matthias has been associated with various organizations such as the Young Security Conference Fellowship at EuropaNova Germany and has previous experience as a Literature Reviewer for the Office for Product Safety Standards (OPSS) at the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

He has also served in multiple roles within the German Federal Armed Forces including Instructor, Platoon Leader, Squad Leader, Observation Officer, and Officer Cadet, showcasing a diverse background in military operations and leadership.

Currently, Matthias Klaus is seeking internships and professional opportunities to further enhance his expertise in international security, AI ethics, and risk analysis.
