Matthias Gewalt

Matthias Gewalt is the Vice President of Asset Management at Huntington National Bank's Renewable Energy Finance (REF) group, which specializes in tax equity, back leverage, and is expanding to offer construction financing.

With expertise in both finance and engineering, Matthias plays a crucial role in managing risks in renewable energy projects from pre-finance support with sponsors to asset monitoring during the loan period.

His responsibilities include equipment selection, design considerations, technical due diligence, financial model support, and developing internal policies related to sponsors, equipment, project diligence, and asset management.

Matthias holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in International Finance and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, complemented by additional education at Landmark Education.

His previous roles include Manager of the Solar Practice and Senior Project Manager at Leidos, as well as Project Management positions at SAIC and R.W. Beck.
