Matthew Rose

Matthew Rose is the Director at Global Health Strategies, a position he has held since November 2021. He is based in the Washington, DC area and is recognized as a social justice advocate with a strong focus on health, human rights, and public policy. His career reflects a commitment to using health as a vehicle for social justice, emphasizing the importance of equitable public policy outcomes for all individuals.

Before joining Global Health Strategies, Rose was the Director of US Policy and Advocacy at Health GAP (Global Access Project) from March 2019 to November 2021. In this role, he developed and managed policy campaigns aimed at securing U.S. funding for global HIV initiatives and improving access to essential health services. He has also served in various capacities that involved community engagement and advocacy related to HIV and health equity, including roles at the National Minority AIDS Council and the Black AIDS Institute.124

Rose holds a degree in Ethnic Studies and Political Science, which has equipped him with a deep understanding of the intersectional issues affecting health and social justice. His work is characterized by a dedication to transformative change through policy advocacy and community engagement, aiming to rectify historical injustices and promote health equity.13
