Matthew Powell
Sabbatical
Mathew Powell is a seasoned mechanical engineer with a diverse background in research and development, design, and project management. Powell's passion for robotics, automation, and mechatronics has led him to earn a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, preceded by a Master's in the same field at Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
After graduating, Powell joined NASA's Graduate Student Research Program, where he worked as a Graduate Student Researcher. Later, he moved to Texas A&M University and conducted research as a Graduate Student Researcher. Powell progressed in his career and worked as a Robotics Engineer for Houston Mechatronics, where he was involved in developing cutting-edge robotic systems for various applications. Powell also served as a Postdoctoral Associate and Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Currently, Powell is on sabbatical, focusing on self-employment while exploring new research interests. During his tenure, he has honed a strong skill set in mechatronics, automation, design, and project management. His expertise in these fields has enabled him to make significant contributions to various organizations as a Robotics Engineer, Postdoctoral Associate, and Research Assistant.
