    He has proficiency in various computer applications like Genesis, Slack, Google Team, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and possesses laboratory skills in using equipment such as water activity meters, pH meters, texture analyzers, Brix refractometers, colorimeters, rheometers, GC-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, NMR, gel electrophoresis, PCR, and SDS-PAGE.

    Matthew Poon pursued a Bachelor's degree in Food Science from the University of California, Davis, an Associate in Science from Shoreline Community College, and studied Food Microbiology, Food Production, and Milk in the Dairy Chain at Wageningen University & Research.

    Throughout his career, Matthew has held positions as an R&D Food Technologist at La Tourangelle, Food Technician at KITCHENTOWN, Lab Technician at CuliNex, LLC, Research and Development Intern at California Wheat Commission, and Food Product Development roles at UC Davis.

    Additionally, he has gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Student Lab Assistant in the Department of Food Science and Technology at UC Davis, and worked in kitchen roles at ASUCD Coffee House.
