Oil and Gas Executive

Contracted as an Executive Consultant, I successfully represented Total E&P Canada as the sole witness in a major arbitration case.  Worked with senior members of the Total team and its outside counsel to develop a business and legal strategy in defense of the arbitration case.  Prepared, with the support of the Total team, all of the witness statements and replies that were submitted to the Arbitrator and acted as the sole witness for Total.

Executive Consultant

- Developed, recommended and managed a crude oil logistic strategy to deliver TEPCA’s production (expected to be over 200 kbpd by 2018) to market and supply diluent to the production assets at the optimum price through a balance of market flexibility, low cost and within the identified risk tolerance of TEPCA. 
- Negotiated all major pipeline and terminal service agreements (including TCPL Energy East, Keystone XL and Terminal, Gateway, Flanagan, TransMountain, Cheecham Terminal).
- Conducted the economic assessment and made the recommendation and presentation to obtain the approval from the Total SA Executive Committee for all major financial commitments. 
- Represented TEPCA in senior/executive industry committees (including CAPP’s Market & Transportation Executive Policy Group), bi-lateral & multilateral discussions and regulatory processes to protect TEPCA’s interests and influence industry participants.
- Developed and approved industry forecasts of production and logistics capacity both within and from Western Canada to the market.
- Negotiated joint venture and other major business/industry agreements.
- Accountable for resolution of various strategic initiatives and industry issues (i.e. Alberta Government new royalty program, Lower Athabasca Regional land use Plan).
- Provided support on a variety of new business opportunities including oil sands, shale and offshore plays, LNG, input on Canadian royalty and tenure programs and providing market and competitor in-sight. 
- Successfully negotiated several First Nation mutual benefit agreements.
- Completed and presented various market studies including natural gas outlooks, regulatory framework for natural gas in B.C., Alberta and other parts of Canada and the electricity market in Alberta.
- As Chairperson of CAPP Sub-Committee for Bitumen Royalty-in-Kind Program, successfully obtained Dept of Energy agreement to use a market based approach.
