Matthew McFarland is a highly experienced computer programmer with over 15 years of professional experience and more than 25 years of personal experience.

From a young age, Matthew showed a strong passion for programming with his first program written in BASIC at the age of 8.

Throughout his childhood and teenage years, he developed text adventure games, text-based resource management games, and experimented with internet technologies and server configurations.

In his early adult life, Matthew focused on problem-solving involving databases, servers, and game development, leading to the publication and sponsorship of games created with various languages.

He has primarily worked with C style languages such as Java, C#, PHP, and JavaScript, but is now delving into ML languages, particularly Elm and Haskell, with a strong preference for JavaScript.

Currently, Matthew McFarland is serving as a Software Developer 4 at Kroger, having previously held positions at organizations like LexisNexis, HVAC-Hacks.com, Good Day Tools LLC, and Potts HVAC.

Driven by a love for learning and teaching, Matthew describes himself as a lifelong coder who is always eager to expand his skills and share his knowledge.
