With a strong background in legislative, regulatory, compliance, and enforcement issues relating to derivatives, securities, banking, and consumer finance, Matthew has advised and represented a variety of financial market participants, including trade groups and companies, on complex legal matters at the intersection of law and finance. Before joining Steptoe & Johnson, Matthew served as Senior Advisor and Division Director of the Division of Swap Dealer & Intermediary Oversight at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, among other distinguished positions as a partner and legal professional at top law firms.
