Matthew Impink was the Executive Director of Indy Achieves at EmployIndy until February 2023. He led the initiative since its launch by Mayor Joe Hogsett and his administration in 2018.1 As Executive Director, Impink guided Indy Achieves' mission to improve access and completion of high-quality degrees and credentials for Indianapolis residents.5
Impink has a background in education and public service. He is an alumnus of Teach for America, having served in the Greater Philadelphia corps in 2007.3 His work with Indy Achieves focused on closing the skills gap in Indianapolis by increasing the proportion of residents with high-quality credentials and eliminating attainment gaps for minority students.1
Currently, Impink serves as an Advisor for Research and Strategy at EmployIndy, expanding his scope to run the Postsecondary Team within the organization.2 This role involves coordinating postsecondary initiatives beyond Indy Achieves.
Outside of his professional work, Impink has been involved in local politics. He ran for City-County Council in District 18, advocating for inclusive and safe communities for all residents.4
