Matthew Henn

Matthew Henn is an accomplished scientist with more than 20 years of experience in microbial ecology, genomics, and bioinformatics. With a Ph.D. in ecosystem sciences from UC Berkeley, he has done extensive research on microbial populations and their functional role in environmental and human disease applications. He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Seres Therapeutics, where he has led the discovery and clinical development of multiple microbiome therapeutics. He has also served on various NIH and CDC working groups on antimicrobial resistance and microbiome research, as well as the scientific advisory boards of Growcentia, Inc., and The Forsyth Institute. Dr. Henn's expertise lies in building great teams and collaborative networks that effect innovative strategies and partnerships that advance microbial-based technologies to enable transformative solutions to challenges in human health and a sustainable environment.
