Matthew Gentzel
Matthew Gentzel is a highly-educated and self-driven researcher with expertise in engineering, machine learning, economics, strategic studies, and policy design. With six years of experience, he aims to advance a secure and rapidly growing future by improving U.S. technology strategy and policy. Gentzel has studied various disciplines from the United States Air Force Academy to Signal Data Science, and earned his Master of Arts in Strategic Studies and International Economics from The Johns Hopkins University. He has experienced working in several organizations like OpenAI, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence. Gentzel has served in various roles such as Graduate Research Assistant, Research Fellow, Mission Development Analyst, and Director of Research and Analysis. He is also a former Cofounder at Effective Altruism Policy Analytics and has been Risk Analysis Grantee at Center for Effective Altruism. His interests include researching policy, analyzing data, and finding solutions to national security challenges.
