Matthew Duffy

Matthew Duffy is an accomplished educator and administrative leader with a strong background in education policy, administration, and curriculum development. He holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Policy and Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Secondary Education and Teaching from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from Wesleyan University.

Throughout his career, Matthew has held various key roles in the education sector, including serving as Superintendent at West Contra Costa Unified School District. Prior to this role, he was the Assistant Superintendent Curriculum and Instruction at Milpitas Unified School District, where he demonstrated his expertise in enhancing curriculum standards and instructional methodologies.

Matthew Duffy also has a rich history of leadership positions, having served as the Senior Executive Director of Program Design and Delivery at New Leaders for New Schools, focusing on developing innovative programs for school improvement. In addition, he has previously worked as the Regional Superintendent/Network Executive Officer for High Schools & School Transformation at Oakland Unified School District, where he spearheaded initiatives to drive positive change in school communities.

With experience as a Principal at Elmhurst Community Prep and Elmhurst Middle School, Matthew has firsthand knowledge of school administration and student-centric approaches to education. His earlier roles as an Assistant Principal at Wadleigh Secondary School and a Teacher at Junior High School 145 have fortified his foundation in instructional leadership and classroom management.
