Corra took me to Southern California where I was formally introduced to the world of Ecommerce. I was hired to ask Ecommerce leaders questions. In that I learned about fundamental platforms like Magento, Shopify, and SAP Hybris. My Ecommerce implementation conversations with business leaders routinely covered business system integration complexity, data migration, and building world class user experiences.

I was hired by Helm as their 4th employee to sell custom web development and design projects. During my time there the agency doubled in size while I learned about Agile vs Waterfall, Open Source Technology, React, LAMP Stack, Levels of Design Fidelity, Scrums, and more. But most importantly, I gained an understanding of how consequential the decisions of what to build and how to build it were to my customer's businesses and lives. When you work with startup founders, business and budgets are personal, especially in the perilous world of custom technology development. I have close friends and family that still work with Helm and I continue to carry empathy and the consultative approach I took to helping them navigate a challenging decision to this day.

I was hired to assist with filling the seats for the main event, a shark tank style pitch competition held in Buffalo's Broadway Theatre. This was my first exposure to email marketing and all the hard work that goes into making major events happen.

Outreach Intern

This student weekend travel company was my gateway to the startup and technology world. I had the opportunity pitch for seed funding, build a WordPress site, sell packaged trips, and deliver them as a the guide. While the business model for Triploma wasn't quite there to be a long term business I was welcomed into the tight knit startup community in Buffalo NY, and that network laid the groundwork for the beginning of my career.
