He has a background in balancing risk and return with front office business leaders, establishing a strong 2nd line of defense, and ensuring the identification and measurement of emerging risks to avoid loss and preserve capital.

With a diverse career across domestic and international banks, as well as Fortune 100 companies, his expertise spans commercial and consumer finance, wealth management, brokerage, and capital markets.

As a former Chief Risk Officer, Matthew enhanced and stabilized enterprise risk for highly regulated banks in the U.S. and Canada, aligning strategies with the Wealth Management industry.

His accomplishments include leading major programs in capital stress testing, risk identification and self-assessment, governance, credit underwriting, portfolio management, model risk management, operational and technology/cyber/vendor risk, asset-liability management, investment portfolio management, new product launches, policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and exam preparation/responsiveness.
