Worked as a graduate student researcher at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL). Researched a novel design for a plasma cathode, that could have applications to a variety of systems, including high power plasma switches, arcs, and high power plasma propulsion systems. Studied a variety of materials to choose optimal cathode materials, designed cathode, and designed and performed experiments to study and evaluate the cathode. Also designed and performed experiments to investigate the physics involved in the cathode project.

Performed a variety of duties relating to developing a network of CubeSats for optical communication of data from space to Earth. Developed a model of solar radiation as part of assisting in link budget analysis calculations. Designed optomechanical systems and collaborated with mechanical engineers to determine constraints and integrate my designs into a larger project. Developed and performed optical experiments to evaluate the validity of my optomechanical designs.

I worked with a group from the National Technical University of Athens on programming Xilinx FPGAs on front-end detector electronics for use in the LHC ATLAS Muon New Small Wheel upgrade at CERN. I implemented a communications system between the lowest-level detector electronics and the second-lowest level detector electronics. I also performed various other duties, such as splicing cables for testing, and soldering test board components.
