Matt Zien is a seasoned producer, creative director, and nonfiction development executive with a wealth of experience in developing and producing series, documentaries, and digital content for various networks and streaming platforms. He has an extensive background working with major players in the industry like HBO, HBOMax, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, A&E, YouTube Originals, CNN, Showtime, MTV, VICE, Nat Geo, and many more. Zien's most recent role was as the Senior Vice President and Creative Director at IPC, a multi Emmy-winning production company that was part of Industrial Media before being acquired by Sony Pictures Television in 2022.
As one of the spearheads of IPC's development team, Zien played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a startup to a prominent player in the unscripted content realm. His contributions led to the production of over 50 series and films for 30+ networks. Some notable projects he worked on include 'This Is Paris' featuring Paris Hilton, 'Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath', 'Indian Matchmaking', 'Free Meek', 'Selena+Chef', '1989', 'Kingpin', 'Active Shooter: America Under Fire', and 'True Life'. Moreover, Zien diversified IPC's portfolio by venturing into commercials and branded content, showcasing his versatility in the industry.
Prior to his tenure at IPC, Zien held key development executive positions at All3Media America and Studio Lambert, where he contributed to the success of global reality hits like 'Undercover Boss' and acclaimed documentaries such as 'The Seven Five' and 'Declassified: The Untold Stories of American Spies'. Zien's educational background includes a BA in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California.
