Matt Witten

Matt Witten is an accomplished American television writer, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter, known for his extensive work in the television industry and his contributions to literature. He has written for numerous popular TV shows, including House, Pretty Little Liars, Law & Order, and CSI: Miami, accumulating over twenty years of experience in the field. His scripts have received critical acclaim, including nominations for an Emmy and two Edgars.125

In addition to his television work, Witten is also a published author. His novels include The Necklace, which was released in September 2021 and has been optioned for film with Leonardo DiCaprio as a producer, and Killer Story, published in January 2023. He has written several mystery novels, including Breakfast at Madeline's, which won a Malice Domestic award for best debut novel.1346

Witten has a background in education, having graduated from Amherst College and Brandeis University. He also teaches screenwriting at the UCLA Extension Writers' Program. He resides in the Los Angeles area with his family.256
