Matt Slaman

Matt Slaman is an accomplished small business owner, creator, and educator, with a range of experience working and living in diverse locations such as Canada, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, and Peru. Matt is fluent in multiple languages including French, Spanish, Portuguese, and mostly Italian, and has a deep understanding of different cultures, which he leverages in his work. He founded Pirate Life in 2014, which has grown to include 35 crew members across Toronto and Ottawa, with plans for further expansion. Matt has over eight years of experience in client services and is highly skilled at assessing clients' needs. He has completed various educational programs, including studying innovative art and culture management at Università di Bologna, and entrepreneurship at the Nova School of Business and Economics. Matt has a passion for education and has taught at Excel Career College. He has also worked as a Producer at Pirate Life Family Adventure Theatre and Cruise and as a Director of Development at Solarstage Theatre. His experience also includes sales, marketing, and communications roles. In addition, he has worked as a mentor and educator at the University of Ottawa and Canada Aviation Museum, respectively.
