    Matt Hodder is a highly experienced professional who recently joined KPMG as a managing director in the Risk Management function, contributing firm-wide support and thought leadership in areas such as risk management, independence, auditing, and financial reporting.

    Prior to his role at KPMG, Matt held the position of Associate Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he played a key role in overseeing the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), engaged in SEC rulemaking, and provided expert consultation on auditing, accounting, internal controls, independence, and financial reporting matters.

    Before his tenure at the SEC, Matt gained valuable experience leading audit engagements at BDO in both Dallas, Texas, and Brisbane, Australia offices. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

    Matt's educational background includes a BBA in Accounting from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business, a Graduate Certificate in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, and he is an alumnus of Langley High School.

    His professional journey spans across various prominent organizations including KPMG US, the Partnership for Public Service where he was an Excellence in Government Fellow, BDO USA and BDO Australia where he held roles as Audit Senior Manager, as well as other key positions at Auerbach Albert & Gold LC and Saville, Dodgen & Co.
