Matias Valenzuela

Matias Valenzuela is an accomplished professional with an impressive background in equity, social justice, and public health. With a PhD and MA in Communication from the University of Washington and a BA in Communication and Literature from UC San Diego, Valenzuela has a deep understanding of the power of communication and how it can be used to further social justice goals.
Valenzuela has held numerous positions in the field, including Equity Director at Public Health - Seattle & King County, Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington's School of Public Health & Community Medicine, and Director of the Office of Equity and Social Justice at King County, WA. He has also served as Manager of King County Equity & Social Justice and Manager of Community Engagement & Partnerships at Public Health - Seattle & King County.
Valenzuela's experience extends beyond the United States, as he has also worked as a Fulbright Professor at Central American University. He began his career as a Journalist, Copy Editor, and Translator at Barricada Internacional.
Valenzuela is passionate about equity, social justice, and public health, and has made it his life's work to help create a world where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
