Mathieu Verreault, a talented filmmaker and director, grew up in the suburbs of Quebec City. With a background in journalism, history, and cinema, she has established herself in the television and film industry as an art director, director, and editor. Her directorial debut with 'À L'OUEST DE PLUTON' in 2009 garnered critical acclaim and was featured in over 50 festivals worldwide. Her diverse skill set includes co-directing, screenwriting, producing, and editing. Notable works include the documentary 'MA TRIBU C'EST MA VIE' for the National Film Board of Canada and editing 'QUÉBÉKOISIE,' a Jutra Award-nominated documentary exploring Quebecois-Indigenous relations. Mathieu embarked on the research and screenplay development for 'KUESSIPAN' in 2012, a film adaptation in collaboration with author Naomi Fontaine, which premiered at TIFF in 2019, earning accolades and awards globally. With a keen eye for storytelling, Mathieu has directed numerous episodes of popular TV series such as '5e rang' and 'SORCIÈRES,' showcasing her versatility and creativity. Additionally, she is actively involved in adapting literary works for the big screen and presenting her short film 'UWD,' co-directed with Brigitte Poupart, at international festivals.
