Matevz Petek

Matevz Petek is the founder of Povio Labs, a San Francisco-based software development agency, and a Y Combinator Winter 2014 graduate with a focus on building digital products for over 1000 companies.

Before transitioning to the tech industry, Matevz was a professional snowboarder signed under Nitro Snowboards, winning numerous accolades including four world cup race victories in the Big Air category and a vice world champion title in Whistler, Canada in 2006.

He founded Povio Labs in 2012, utilizing his strong work ethics and dedication from his sports career, and later relocated to Silicon Valley where the company was accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2014 class, subsequently raising funds from renowned funds and angel investors like Social Starts, DeNa, and Pete Cashmore.

With a robust engineering network, Povio Labs, under Matevz's leadership, has successfully completed over 1000 projects and currently operates with a team of 150 members spread across five cities.

Matevz is a sought-after speaker at events like Launch Festival and SparkMe, actively contributing to the local startup ecosystem. He is passionate about digital product development, scaling engineering teams, and professional sports.
