Mateja Bruncic

Mateja Verlic Bruncic is a dedicated individual with a diverse background spanning from being a researcher, developer, and product manager to a mentor and leader, advocating for positive change and putting people before numbers.

With a strong educational foundation, Mateja pursued a PhD in text mining and sentiment analysis at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, in addition to a B.Sc. in Computer Science and International Baccalaureate from II. gimnazija Maribor.

Throughout her career, she has held various significant roles including Director of Product and Former Director of Engineering at Databox, Director Of Software Development at GenePlanet, and roles at organizations such as Europe Code Week, EqualEyes Solutions Ltd., Kendu d.o.o., Zemanta, and Universitetet i Bergen, among others.

Mateja is passionate about empowering women in the tech industry and beyond, aiming to contribute to positive change and advocating for continuous learning and personal development. She believes in the power of community and leads by example, championing the philosophy that even a 1% change can make a difference.

Her experience as an Assistant Professor, Visiting researcher, Head of Research, and various research roles at reputable institutions showcases her expertise and dedication to advancing knowledge and driving innovation.
