Masatoshi Miyakawa is the Business Development Director at MIRAISENS, Inc., a position he has held since April 2018. MIRAISENS, which was acquired by Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in December 2019, specializes in haptic technology, developing tools and middleware that enhance user experiences in gaming, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and other applications through realistic tactile feedback.
In his role, Miyakawa has been instrumental in opening the company's San Francisco office and expanding its customer base in the U.S. He focuses on promoting haptic technology to content creators and game developers, conducting projects with major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and developing partnerships that ensure compatibility with leading gaming platforms. His work involves extensive travel to foster international business relationships and negotiate contracts for new product development.1
Prior to his current position, Miyakawa worked at JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) for nearly eight years, where he initiated programs to assist Japanese startups in expanding their businesses in the U.S. market. His experience includes managing incubation centers and organizing events to showcase Japanese technologies.1
Miyakawa's background also includes work as a freelance audio engineer, where he developed innovative audio editing methods and worked on various media projects in both the U.S. and Japan.1
