Mary Nugent

Mary Nugent is a Consultant for New Geographical Boundaries at the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), a role she began in October 2023. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, her responsibilities include supporting member organizations during their transition to a new region and assisting in the development of educational methods within scouting.13

Nugent has an extensive background in program development, training, and administration, primarily within the non-profit and educational sectors. Before her current position, she served as the Director of Educational Methods at WOSM from October 2021 to September 2023, where she focused on creating management practices and educational resources for National Scout Organizations. Her earlier roles include Youth Program Coordinator and MoViS Network Meeting Planner, reflecting her long-standing commitment to youth engagement and volunteer management in scouting.12

Her professional experience is complemented by her involvement in various training and operational roles, including significant contributions to Scouting Ireland and the Irish Girl Guides.1 Nugent is recognized for her strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to her work, which has been shaped by years of volunteering at both national and international levels.13
