Mary Hale

Mary Hale is a registered professional engineer with over twenty-five years of experience in energy technologies, excelling in areas such as technology development, engineering management, program management, and project management.

She possesses extensive expertise in utility-scale concentrating solar power (CSP), concentrating PV (CPV), and PV technologies, with a focus on various aspects including technology due diligence, independent engineering, performance analysis, performance testing, economic analysis, and more.

Currently, Mary serves as the Associate Editor for ASME Journal of Solar Energy Engineer and is actively involved with the PTC 52 committee, co-authoring solar performance test codes for utility-scale CSP. She was honored with the ASES Women in Solar Energy (WISE) award in 2016.

Mary Hale holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah. Her professional journey includes roles such as Principal Engineer at Clean Energy Associates (CEA), Senior Solar Energy Consultant at Leidos, Energy Engineering Consultant, Senior Engineer at SkyFuel, Inc., Manager at Black & Veatch, Principal Engineer at McHale Performance, Director at AREVA Solar, Solar Systems Program Manager at SolFocus, Inc., and Senior Engineer/Program Manager at NREL.
