Marwan Shakarchi has been a pivotal figure in the precious metals industry, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of MKS (Switzerland) SA since 1983. Under his leadership, MKS PAMP has evolved into a leading integrated precious metals group, renowned for its financial and physical trading services as well as its state-of-the-art refining capabilities. Shakarchi is also a member of the Executive Management Committee and has played a significant role in transforming the company into a global leader in precious metals trading and manufacturing.123
He graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Multinational Enterprises. Throughout his career, Shakarchi has been recognized for his expertise in the gold and precious metals markets, often speaking at industry forums and financial institutions. Notably, he was a primary member of the Task Force Committee that prepared a report on commodities markets for the G20 summit in Paris in 2011 and has served as an international consultant to the Shanghai Gold Exchange.234
In July 2024, it was announced that Shakarchi would transition to the role of CEO of MKS PAMP GROUP effective January 1, 2025, while James Emmett will take over as CEO of MKS PAMP. This change reflects Shakarchi's ongoing influence and leadership within the broader organization.15
