Martin Smith

Martin Smith is a computational biologist highly experienced in bioinformatics and genomics, with a strong academic background and diverse professional experience in various research and academic institutions.

He pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Genomics and Computational Biology at The University of Queensland, a Master's degree in Bioinformatics at Université de Montréal, and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Microbiology and Immunology, also from Université de Montréal.

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Université de Montréal, Martin Smith has held notable positions in prestigious organizations such as CHU Sainte-Justine Research Centre, UNSW, and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.

His past roles include Senior Lecturer, Research Fellow, Head of Genomic Technologies, Conjoint Lecturer, and Bioinformatics Research Officer at various institutions.

Martin Smith has a rich history of academic research, having been a PhD candidate at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience and a Research Associate at the Center for Infectious Disease Research (CHUL).

Prior to his academic career, he gained practical experience as an Environmental Technician at Ville de Montreal/Montreal city and a Quality Control Technician at Lallemand.
