Martin Misjuns is a city councilman for the City of Lynchburg, Virginia, whose term began on January 2, 2023.2 He is a veteran and retired US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer who now serves as a project manager.3 Misjuns was previously a captain with the Lynchburg Fire Department but was fired after posting an image on social media that some considered transphobic.1 In 2022, he was elected as a Republican to the Lynchburg City Council.1
