Marshall Cox
Founder and CEO
Marshall Cox is the Founder and CEO of Kelvin (formerly Radiator Labs), a company he established in 2011 to address energy inefficiency in pre-war buildings with radiator heating systems.1 Cox holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, as well as a Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University.12
Cox's entrepreneurial journey began during his time at Columbia, where he founded two startups: Kelvin (initially Radiator Labs) and Chromation.1 Kelvin developed the Cozy system, a wireless retrofit for radiators that improves temperature control and can save up to 40% in heating costs.1 The company has since expanded its focus to include cooling solutions and has rebranded from Radiator Labs to Kelvin.3
In addition to his work at Kelvin, Cox has been involved in various entrepreneurial programs:
- He was a fellow in the Startup Leadership Program, where he was voted "Entrepreneur of the Year" for the 2012 NY chapter.1
