Marquis Scott is an accomplished diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) expert with over a decade of experience. He studied Applied Speech Communication at Ferris State University and has since held numerous leadership roles across multiple organizations. He currently serves as the Project Manager for Emerging & Inclusive Communities at Cisco, where he leads initiatives that foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Prior to this, he was the Project Manager for Affinity Groups and DEI Enablement Strategies at the same company, further establishing his DEI expertise. Marquis has also served as the D&I Community Program Manager at Duo Security and the Co-Lead & Employer Relations Manager at the University of Michigan. Additionally, he has experience in talent acquisition, workforce program development, community outreach, budget and strategic planning, and project management.

Marquis's ultimate goal in DEI is to "reduce barriers to brilliance" and invest in collective success while being good in our neighborhoods. He believes that diversity brings different perspectives and approaches that can solve problems using innovative strategies. Inclusion means everyone can offer their highest contribution. He is a job readiness trainer and consultant, specializing in recruiting and training solutions, employee retention, cost reduction, and partnership development. Marquis's experience in large-scale event staffing, project management, talent acquisition, and special events execution allows him to excel in community engagement, public affairs, and fund development.
