Having completed a Master's degree in Research Master Behavioural Science and a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogische Wetenschappen at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, Marlou's academic background is marked by excellence.

During Marlou's PhD tenure at Radboud University, the research focus delved into exploring the mechanisms within commercial video games that could positively impact the mental well-being of adolescents.

Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Radboud University, Marlou continues to delve into social processes within video game interactions with a specific emphasis on mental health.

Marlou advocates for innovative theoretical, methodological, and intervention-based research to alleviate the disease burden of internalizing mental health disorders, and eagerly contributes to this field with her research endeavors.
