Marlene Roefs

Marlene Roefs is a seasoned Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation advisor and manager with a rich background in developing and implementing M&E systems for international development projects.

Her expertise spans across various sectors including Food and Agricultural development, working with diverse stakeholders such as Public, Private, Non-profit Organizations, and PPPs.

Marlene's professional focus revolves around Sustainable Development Goals, Behavior Change Insights, and conducting participatory and rigorous Research.

She holds a PhD in Social Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has a solid educational foundation from Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden and Willibrord Gymnasium Deurne.

Currently, she serves as the Senior Advisor for Planning Monitoring Evaluation at Wageningen University & Research.

Marlene has previously held key positions such as Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation roles at SNV, Director at Social Dimensions, and Board member at SAMEA.

Her career highlights also include being the Chief Research Specialist at HSRC (Human Sciences Research Council), a consultant at UNDP for socio-demographic information analysis, and a Researcher at Public Opinion Service at IDASA.
