Mark Smucker
Professor at University of Waterloo
Mark Smucker is a Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at the University of Waterloo.13 He is cross-appointed with the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science.1 His research interests include information retrieval, human-computer interaction, and the design, analysis, and evaluation of search engines and recommendation systems.24
Dr. Smucker has been cited over 4,000 times for his work in information retrieval and human-computer interaction.2 He has received several accolades, including the ACM SIGIR 2012 Best Paper Award and the Faculty of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Waterloo in 2012.7
