Mark Sinclair is a proud alumnus of the University of North Texas, where he studied for his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. His academic foundation set the stage for an illustrious career in public accounting that spans over 46 years, including 38 years at Ernst & Young (EY). During his time at EY, Mark held various leadership positions, notably as an Audit Partner, Partner in Charge of Human Resources, and Partner in Charge of the Strategic Growth Markets Practice in North Texas. Mark’s formidable experience includes advisory roles with high-growth public and venture/private equity-backed companies, supporting organizations ranging from early-stage startups to multi-billion dollar enterprises with global operations across numerous industries.
After his distinguished career at EY, Mark continued to share his expertise as a Partner at Whitley Penn LLP, a regional accounting firm in Texas, for eight years. His vast knowledge has been instrumental in advancing the financial health and strategic direction of numerous organizations.
Community Involvement
Mark's commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond his professional endeavors; he has actively participated in his community for many years. He has served on more than 30 nonprofit boards, contributing his leadership skills, vision, and dedication to various causes. His substantial involvement includes holding the role of Chairman on ten different boards, where he has been pivotal in guiding organizations toward fulfilling their missions.
Some of the notable boards Mark has served on include the City of Dallas Economic Development Advisory Board (as Chair), the Dallas Regional Chamber Board (as Vice Chair), and the City of Dallas–State Thomas Tax Increment Financing District Board (as Chair). Additionally, Mark has been a Vice Chair for the North Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization and the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau.
