Mark Platt is a seasoned Senior Air Safety Investigator (ASI) at Lycoming Engines with over 25 years of experience in conducting General Aviation accident investigations across fixed-wing and rotor-wing sectors.

With a strong background in technical support and troubleshooting of airframe and powerplant systems, Mark plays a pivotal role as one of the primary investigators assisting the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) during accident investigations involving Lycoming Engines products.

Mark excels in communication and professionalism, demonstrating the ability to assess critical and complex situations and provide prompt and effective solutions.

Continuously advancing his technical expertise and accident-investigation skills, Mark actively participates in training sessions like the FAA's Inspection Authorization renewal course and the General Aviation Air Safety Investigators (GAASI) conference.

In addition to his investigative duties, Mark oversees the Lycoming ASI Group Digital Report Writing program, managing instruction manuals, training, software, and form revisions.

Proficient in technical writing, Mark regularly produces detailed factual reports encompassing investigative narratives, illustrations, digital imagery, and pertinent documentation on aviation accident incidents.

Mark's versatility extends to being one of the pioneering Lycoming UAV field technicians, offering on-site customer support and contributing to Research & Development activities for UAV powerplant projects since 2009.
