Currently, he serves as the Head of the Shared Service Center for IT Payments at BNP Paribas Fortis, where he applies his vast knowledge and leadership abilities to enhance payment operations and drive innovation within the organization.
Mark began his impressive educational journey at Sint Pieters College in Leuven, focusing on natural sciences. His thirst for knowledge and ambition led him to pursue further studies abroad. He obtained a Master's degree in International Business/Trade/Commerce from HUB-EHSAL, where he honed his skills in international trade principles and business strategies. He also earned a Master's degree in Economics from the renowned Università degli Studi di Parma, enriching his understanding of economic theories and policies that govern global commerce. To solidify his business acumen, he completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at London Metropolitan University, which equipped him with essential management skills and a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.
In addition to his current position at BNP Paribas Fortis, Mark's career trajectory includes impressive roles in various prestigious organizations. He co-headed the Shared Service Center for IT Payments at BNP Paribas Fortis, where he implemented process improvements and optimized payment workflows. Prior to this, Mark was the Head of Payments and Cash Management at HSBC Plc in the Belgium Branch, where he effectively managed payment solutions and improved cash management services for corporate clients. His tenure at ING Bank was equally impactful, spanning several key positions, including Senior Account Manager for International Network and International Cash Management as well as Director and Head of Payments and Cash Management Asia. His responsibilities in these roles involved overseeing payment operations and developing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This experience added a multicultural dimension to his expertise, preparing him for challenges in the global market.
Before his time at ING Bank, Mark made significant contributions as the Head of the European Business Desk at Bank Brussels Lambert in their London Branch. Here, he gained invaluable insights into the complexities of the European banking sector and its regulation. His journey in the financial sector began with a solid foundation as a Management Trainee at Bank Brussels Lambert in Brussels, where he learned the fundamentals of banking operations and started building his career in finance.
