    Mark Overton is the owner of Saxquest Inc. since January 2000, and the Owner & Webmaster of saxophone.org since April 2004.1 He is a saxophone historian and owns the Saxquest Museum in St. Louis.3 Mark has been active in the St. Louis jazz scene since 1993.2

    Overton received undergraduate degrees from the University of Northern Iowa in 1993 and completed his PhD in Molecular Cell Biology at Washington University in St. Louis in 2000.2 While at Washington University, he directed The Hot Docs, a big band affiliated with the university, for five years.2 Mark also worked as a music instrument appraiser for Antique Roadshow/Trash for Treasure events.2

    In 2000, Mark started Saxquest with the aim of creating a destination for saxophone players to find equipment, gain knowledge, and engage in transactions with a knowledgeable sales staff through both a physical store and the internet.2 This vision led to the creation of Saxquest, a retail store and repair shop, and saxophone.org, a social media website for saxophone players.2

    Overton has performed with jazz groups such as Code Blue, Allegro Jazz Ensemble, and the Original Knights of Swing.2 He has also performed with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra and the St. Louis Wind Symphony.2 With the University of Northern Iowa Jazz Ensemble, Mark recorded "Come Fly with Me," which received a Down Beat five-star award.2
