Mark Graves

Mark Graves, a data and computer scientist, has an extensive research background in genomics/neuroscience, psychology, and philosophical theology/ethics. With a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Michigan and an MS in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, he has developed bioinformatics, analytics, and database software in biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. Currently working as an NLP Data Scientist and Director at Parexel, he explores ways psychology and ethics can help construct and model advanced and emerging AI technologies using machine learning and natural language processing (NLP), especially semantic text analysis, to better understand psychological factors of moral decision-making. Previously, he has held research fellow/faculty positions at Fuller Theological Seminary and the University of Notre Dame, clinical data scientist positions at Roam Analytics and Clover Health, visiting associate positions at Caltech and lectured at Santa Clara University, Berkeley and the Jesuit School of Theology.
