VP Operations

Health care finance and third-party consulting practice specializing in Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement for hospitals, HMOs, nursing homes, home health agencies, outpatient therapy facilities, and medical offices.

Reopened Medicare cost reports for hospitals and audited member payments for Medicare HMOs with incremental reimbursement impact.

Provided consulting including State of Florida Medicaid application, Medicare cost reporting, third-party contract analysis, and regulatory review for the first skilled nursing facility constructed nationally for a Forbes 100 privately-held corporation including regulatory and exemption filings.

Multi-provider operation with $300 million in net revenues, > $50 million in EBITDA, 1,700 FTEs, six legal entities.  Included a medical center, skilled nursing facility, physician group practice, outpatient surgery center, and home health agency.  Top 100 nationally recognized facility.  Responsible for reimbursement planning for major projects and managed care contracts as well as cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Corrected wage index errors at local hospitals to provide an additional $10 million in reimbursement to all facilities in Palm Beach County, Florida.	
Corrected prior year Medicare cost reports resulting in an additional $750,000 in reimbursement.
Switched current cost allocations methods to provide an additional $750,000 in Medicare payments. 
Developed price sensitivity, revenue enhancement, and square footage studies that provided additional reimbursement of over $2 million.
