Mr. Burrell graduated from Boston College with a degree in economics and is the happily married Father of 2 wonderful little boys , Grady and Finn.

Mark was a partner at Half Shell Entertainment which set out on a journey 15 years ago and raised a fund based upon the prediction of changing viewer habits, tastes, and the proliferation of channels. They purchased and reinvigorated dormant IP,  all with the mission to shine a light on talent and ideas that hadn't been given a chance or that had been put in a box by a system.  This process sparked the idea for Tongal.   Mark helped build and manage key partnerships with HBO and National Lampoon along with collaborating with talent like Dan O Keefe (Seinfeld) Callie Khouri (Thelma and Louise) John Ridley (12 Years a Slave)  and Jim Manos (Sopranos)  Prior to that, Mark was Vice President of Creative at Thunder Road Pictures/Warner Brothers/Intermedia Films where he worked on films ranging from The Quiet American and Adaptation to Terminator 3 and Alexander the Great. Mr. Burrell started as an equity derivatives analyst at Morgan Stanley and wisely left after two years.
