Mark Buitenhek

Mark Buitenhek is the Global Head of ING Transaction Services, starting from January 1, 2014, overseeing various aspects of transaction services at ING.

His responsibilities include managing Global Transaction Services Sales, Payments and Cash Management, Products and Channels, Trade Finance Services, Working Capital Solutions, Securities Services, and Commercial Finance, collaborating with Transaction Services partners, Client Services, Operations, and IT.

Mark has a keen interest in global transaction banking, SEPA, major financial industry innovation projects, and mobile technology like m-payments and virtual payments.

He actively shares his expertise and participates in industry organizations such as SWIFT and European payments advisory groups, influencing the future of retail and corporate banking.

In terms of education, Mark studied Business Administration at the University of Applied Science 's-Hertogenbosch and completed Gymnasium at Dr Mollercollege.

He was involved with various organizations, serving as a General Member Board at TradeIX and holding positions as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Payvision and Payconiq. Mark also worked in leadership roles at ING and served on the Board of Directors at SWIFT, the European Payments Council (EPC), and the Advisory Board at MasterCard Europe, among others.
