Mark Brian Raphael
Mark Brian Raphael is a Venture Builder specializing in helping large corporates innovate and build new ventures. He brings expertise in corporate venturing and is a strong advocate for the role of distribution in the success of start-ups versus MNC incumbents. Mark is currently associated with EDB New Ventures at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as the Head of Venture Builder.
With a diverse educational background, Mark studied Medicine at Duke-NUS Medical School and pursued a Minor in Business Management and Marketing as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons. in Life Sciences at the National University of Singapore. He also participated in a Student Exchange Programme at The University of Manchester focusing on Life Sciences, Business Management, and Leadership.
Mark's professional experience includes various roles at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) such as Senior Lead in the International Policy & Asian Businesses Team, Senior Lead in International Policy, Assistant Head in International Policy, and Manager in International Policy. He has also worked at SPRING Singapore in roles like Senior Officer in International Policy.
Apart from his professional endeavors, Mark Brian Raphael has a keen interest in Healthcare, Medtech, Social Enterprises, and issues related to International Trade and Development with a particular emphasis on the ASEAN region. He is open to exchanging ideas on venture building and collaborating with corporates looking to explore opportunities with EDB New Ventures.
