He has authored several books, including "The Adirondacks: In Celebration of the Seasons," "Adirondack Waters: Spirit of the Mountains," and "Nights on Fire: An Unnatural History of Twilight." Additionally, he frequently presents slide shows and lectures about photography and the outdoors, inspiring others to explore and appreciate the natural world.

Throughout his career, Mark has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Adirondack Center for Writing's Lifetime Achievement Award and the North American Nature Photography Association's prestigious Fellow Award. He is also a member of the NANPA Summit Committee and serves on the advisory board of The Nature Conservancy’s Adirondack Chapter.
