Marissa Winmill is an accomplished and highly experienced educator with a varied background of working with diverse populations. Her areas of expertise include community engagement, advocacy, equity, coaching, mentoring, leadership, cultural responsive teaching, and differentiated instruction. Additionally, she is currently undertaking doctoral studies at the American College of Education with a focus on curriculum development.

She is a graduate of the Philippine Normal University, where she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, and her BSE-English in English Language and Literature. She also holds a Master of Education Leadership and is currently completing her Doctor of Education in Community Organization and Educational Leadership.

Marissa has held a variety of positions, including peer mentor at Kent School District, co-teaching cohort lead/ELL teacher at Kent-Meridian High School, equity team leader at Kent-Meridian High School, equity team member at Lake Youngs Elementary School, and board member of the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board. In addition, she has worked extensively as an instructional coach and ELL teacher at the Highline and Kent school districts.

Marissa is also the former owner of a Mary Kay business and has facilitated the Refugee Educator Academy Program in Washington State through the Carey Institute for Global Good. She is passionate about education, equity, and empowerment and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work.
