Mario Escobar, Business Development Manager at APM Terminals Poti

Mario Escobar is the Business Development Manager at APM Terminals Poti in Georgia.134 He is responsible for identifying and securing new inland terminals infrastructure investments via public tender, direct agreement, or acquisition.2

Prior to his current role, Mario worked as Managing Director of Pelepas Inland Services Terminal in Malaysia, one of the divisions of APM Terminals worldwide, with the main goal of expanding the business into a logistics hub for Asia. Before moving to the Asia Pacific region, he was the Regional Border Manager for APM Terminals in Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, where he bore full responsibility for profit and loss.1

Mario will be presenting at the Multimodal Transport and Transit Forum 2024 in Tbilisi, Georgia.13 He aims to build a new port in Poti that can accommodate larger container ships with the latest equipment and new containers.4

Recently, Mario met with a South Korean official along with APM Terminals Poti's General Director Christian Roeder to discuss the upcoming port developments.5 He believes that the Poti Terminal will foster the Middle Corridor development.6
